Louisiana State Capitol carte de visite, 1862.

The camera stands looking up at the capitol from the street that runs in front of the riverside facade of the building. A Federal flag flies from a turret. The windows are intact, which means the photographer took this picture between May 1862, when Federal forces occupied Baton Rouge, and December 1862, when fire gutted the building.
